2011 Training workshop.

In our effort to eradicate crime in Nigeria and Africa at large, we have declared  2011, crime awareness year, especially for the general workforce and communities.

Statistically, thousands of employees and field workers are killed yearly in the line of duty  by armed robbers and kidnappers, especially those employees working in remote and rural environment or in the cash business sectors.

Workplace violence crime in developing countries can be completely seen differently  from developed countries. Most workplace violence perpetrators in developed countries are disgruntled employees of the same establishment who may be angry with the employers or co-workers, sexual harrassment, racial profiling, while few others are by unknown armed robberies, but in the developing countries, workplace violence is totally  opposite. The workplace violence in developing countries like Nigeria where a case study indicates that armed robbery and kidnapping are the only possible workplace violence, especially in cash related business or oil industry.

Unfortunately  most organizations operating in developing countries are not bothered about the safety of their employees, due to non-enforceable safety regulation that marred by corruption and unethical conduct of government officials whose responsibility is to enforce non-compliance safety laws against the violators.

Some organizations consistently abuse and neglect the welfare of their employees,  compromising the safety of the employees in workplace without taken into consideration the  adverse effect such crime might  stall their business operation and projected revenue. The chaos for any  threat or attack against the workforce must produce negative psycological impact on other employees and  could lead to low level performance resulting in fears of anticipation of another attack.

The common sense management for any organization that  thrives to maintain production stability with goal for aggressive revenue drive, is to  prioritize employee safety in workplaces, by providing  necessary proactive safety workplace violence training and counseling for all their employees.

The brutality of workplace crime in Africa cannot be undermined, especially for foreign  companies operatng in remote sites in the region, as the hoodlums focuses  their target  on them.  Emphasis must be geared towards proactive training and acquisition of electronic gadgets as preventive  measure.

The violence crime is drastically increasing in Nigeria, not only at workplace but also in neighborhoods and on freeway, where thousands of community leaders, workers, politicians falls the victim of armed robbery and kidnapping attack  on daily basis due to lack of preparedness, awareness and lack of proactive training. "Information is an important tools to success - Ignorance is a freeway to failure and regrets", be part of this challenge, provide yourself and employees with security program that make sense. of the forthcoming training -

.... when the robber strikes, you win..
